Q: My windows are not true/square, can I still have Plantation shutters?
A: Yes of course you can, it is very rare that you find a window that is completely true or square, we will allow for this in the survey.
Q: Why do you need to come and do a survey, can’t I just give you the measurements?
A: Yes you can if you are going to install the shutter yourself, but if you want a professional installation then we will need to do our own survey. We will not be liable for any errors in your measurements.
Q: Are your surveys free?
A: Yes, our surveys are free with no obligation.
Q: Why do you need to take a deposit?
A: All our Plantation shutters are custom made to suit your windows, we cannot make use of them if you cancel your order once it is in production.
Q: Can I install the shutters myself?
A: A high level of DIY skills is required to fit them yourself, if this is so then yes you can, but we recommend that they are professionaly installed to preserve your guarantee.
Q: How long are your shutters guaranteed for?
A: Our shutters have a guarantee against defects for as long as you own them, hinges etc have a three year guarantee, plus two years installation guarantee if they are installed by Modica Blinds.
Q: Why do shutters seem to be so expensive?
A: We agree Plantation shutters are more expensive than other window coverings but you are purchasing a custom built, quality product that will last for many years.
Q: Will your shutters fade or distort in the sun?
A: Very unlikely, our shutter materials are double baked to prevent warping and each shutter is coated with a UV protection layer to minimise discolouration.
Q: How long will it be before I get my shutters?
A: At the moment we are looking at 6-8 weeks turnaround but unusually large orders may take a little longer.
